China Arts Saloon Chinese cloth-covered book/document case with 中国萃苑 (Zhongguo Cuiyuan) label, traditional factory-covered construction, and bone or faux bone toggle closures.
Cloth cover shows blue, green, and brown traditional Chinese motifs with repeating circular and floral patterns. The front label is printed in Chinese characters. Contents are not visible. Included: the case shown in the photos with both toggle closures attached. No contents shown.
Condition: very good overall with visible fraying on the closure straps, light edge wear, and minor discoloration/scuffs on the toggles and fabric. No tears in the fabric (outside or in) & box closes as expected.
Red ink is unopened.
Black ink sticks are barely worn/used.
Marble Foo Dog stamp is without chips, cracks or repairs.
The white-tipped sumi brushes shows a mixed-hair brush (often called Jianhao). You can clearly see a darker core hair surrounded by lighter, finer outer hairs. This design combines stiff hairs for structural resilience with soft hairs for high ink retention.
The black-tipped features a more uniform, brown-haired brush—typically made from soft, flexible hair. It holds a high volume of ink and allows for exceptionally smooth, flowing script variations.
