A timeless Michigan icon captured in watercolor. This watercolor print was created to commemorate the opening of the iconic Mackinac Bridge, completed in November 1957. Painted by noted artist Menzo Van Esveldt, this piece captures one of Michigan’s most celebrated engineering landmarks. It beautifully depicts the Mackinac Bridge, the nearly 5-mile suspension bridge connecting Michigan’s Upper and Lower Peninsulas. Known as “Mighty Mac,” the bridge is a symbol of engineering achievement, regional pride, and Great Lakes history—making this artwork especially meaningful to collectors with ties to Michigan or an appreciation for American landmarks. Van Esveldt’s work showcases the bridge’s elegant span and atmospheric presence, offering a sense of scale, calm, and movement that only original works can convey. Whether you’re a Michigan native (like me), a lover of architectural art, or a collector of original watercolors, this piece offers both visual impact and historical resonance.
