A particularly beautiful example of Victorian-era opaline milk glass, this antique decorative dish measures approximately 5¾" x 3¾" and combines an opaque white glass body with a vibrant blue Ring of Fire and delicate roses and scrolling vines.
The most captivating feature is the colorful iridescence surrounding the piece. When viewed in natural light, the milk glass reveals a striking blue Ring of Fire, creating a luminous halo against the soft white opaline glass.
The dish is further enhanced by its original hand-painted floral decoration, featuring roses and graceful vines, along with surviving original gilding visible throughout the piece. The combination of painted floral decoration and gold accents adds considerable visual interest and speaks to the decorative character of Victorian glassware.
At 5¾" x 3¾", this is a wonderfully versatile size for a jewelry or trinket dish, vanity accessory, small catchall, or decorative collector's piece.
The vibrant iridescence, floral decoration, surviving gilding, and excellent overall condition make this an especially appealing addition to a collection of Victorian glass, antique milk glass, or opaline glass.
